Are You Seeking the Approval of Men, or the Approval of God

When Jesus Christ walked on this earth in the First Century, he claimed to be “the way, the truth, and the life.” (John 14:6)

In his teaching to his disciples during those days, he also made it very clear that the cost to follow Jesus, and to stand for the Truth, was a costly one, and that in order to follow him as the source of all truth would require one to be willing to give up everything this life has to offer, including relationships with friends and loved ones.

Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.

For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will find it. What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul?” (Matthew 16:24-26)

Jesus also made it very clear that those who did follow him and stand for the Truth, would be very few, and always the minority.

“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.” (Matthew 7:13-14)

Some of the most miserable people of society are those who understand the Truth intellectually, but are not willing to follow the Truth, because the cost is too high.

It’s very difficult to always be in the minority, with everyone opposing you, because you do not follow the crowd.

We saw much of this play out during the COVID Scamdemic, where many people understood the truth about how dangerous and evil the COVID “vaccines” were, but decided to comply with COVID vaccine mandates anyway, because they feared losing something if they did not, such as their employment and source of income.

I clearly remember reporting on one mother who reportedly complied with a COVID vaccine mandate, even though she knew it was dangerous. She wanted to keep working at the school where one of her children was enrolled, and took the chance, but ended up dying shortly after she took the shot.

The Right Wing media treated her as a hero and martyr, claiming that the “COVID vaccine mandate” killed her.

But the COVID vaccine mandate did NOT kill her. Her choice to not follow the truth and do something she knew was wrong, is what killed her. The cost to follow the truth was too high, but she ended up paying the ultimate price anyway, and quite possibly forfeited her soul in the process.

Today, if you live in the United States, Zionism dominates our culture, especially Evangelical Christian teaching. To dare to question one’s belief that the modern day Israeli government is the leader of “God’s chosen people,” is to go against the crowd and become the object of ridicule and hatred.

One of our readers named Kevin emailed me this week and wrote:

My own wife and entire family left me due to the fact that she believes the tribulation is for Zionist Political state of Israel.

My only purpose in life now is to bring others to Jesus. I know the false teachers and the deceptions being preached on Fox News, pulpits everywhere, etc.

Kevin has counted the cost to follow Jesus and the Truth, and he continues to do so even after losing his wife and family.

It’s a very lonely life. Trust me, I know.

But we can take courage in the fact that the disciples who followed Jesus when he still walked this earth, and shortly after he left, all faced the same opposition and isolation.

Paul, who most clearly defined the “Good News” or “gospel” message that shows how everyone can be born of God’s Spirit regardless of ethnicity, religious membership, or any other way of classifying people, faced constant attacks from the majority Jewish religion, which he was part of as a Pharisee himself.

Here’s how he described his life, as he chose the narrow way, and counted the cost of following the Truth as he was constantly attacked by his fellow Jews who actually admitted intellectually that Jesus was the Messiah:

Are they Hebrews? So am I. Are they Israelites? So am I. Are they Abraham’s descendants? So am I. Are they servants of Christ? (I am out of my mind to talk like this.) I am more.

I have worked much harder, been in prison more frequently, been flogged more severely, and been exposed to death again and again.

Five times I received from the Jews the forty lashes minus one. Three times I was beaten with rods, once I was stoned, three times I was shipwrecked, I spent a night and a day in the open sea, I have been constantly on the move.

I have been in danger from rivers, in danger from bandits, in danger from my own countrymen, in danger from Gentiles; in danger in the city, in danger in the country, in danger at sea; and in danger from false brothers. I have labored and toiled and have often gone without sleep; I have known hunger and thirst and have often gone without food; I have been cold and naked. (2 Corinthians 11:22-27)

This is the description of a person who has counted the cost of following Jesus and the Truth, and endured the attacks from the majority of “believers” who tried to silence him.

If you are still part of a religious organization, such as a Christian Church, in America today, look around at the people in your religious group and see if any of them have suffered like Paul did as he described here.

The fact is that Christians in America today are the majority, especially the Zionists, and going along with the crowd, not against it.

They do not stand in the truth, because they love the approval of men more than the approval of God.

The same was true of the earliest “believers” in Jesus Christ, those who intellectually acknowledged that Jesus was in fact the Messiah (as all Evangelical Christians do today), but were too afraid to acknowledge this “belief” and follow Jesus.

“Put your trust in the light while you have it, so that you may become sons of light.”

When he had finished speaking, Jesus left and hid himself from them.

Even after Jesus had done all these miraculous signs in their presence, they still would not believe in him.

This was to fulfill the word of Isaiah the prophet: “Lord, who has believed our message and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?”

For this reason they could not believe, because, as Isaiah says elsewhere: “He has blinded their eyes and deadened their hearts, so they can neither see with their eyes, nor understand with their hearts, nor turn—and I would heal them.”

Isaiah said this because he saw Jesus’ glory and spoke about him.

Yet at the same time many even among the leaders believed in him.

But because of the Pharisees they would not confess their faith for fear they would be put out of the synagogue (church); for they loved praise from men more than praise from God. (John 12:36-43)

Paul’s teaching of the “Good News” was opposed by the Jewish believers who did not want to accept the fact that God’s grace and redemption had been extended to non-Jews, referred to as “Gentiles,” and these Jewish believers insisted that all Gentile believers had to convert to Judaism and keep the Law of Moses, including circumcising all male children.

Paul called these so-called Jewish believers “cursed”!

I marvel that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ to a different “good news”; and there isn’t another “good news.” Only there are some who trouble you, and want to pervert the Good News of Christ.

But even though we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you any “good news” other than that which we preached to you, let him be cursed.

As we have said before, so I now say again: if any man preaches to you any “good news” other than that which you received, let him be cursed. (Galatians 1:6-9)

In the very next sentence of this letter, he wrote:

For am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please men? For if I were still pleasing men, I wouldn’t be a servant of Christ. (Galatians 1:10)

Paul knew that the Truth, the Good News, went against the crowd and the dominant Jews, but his motivation was to please God, and not the Jewish leaders who ruled the society of that day.

It was a declaration of Truth that he made often to the true disciples of Jesus.

You know, brothers, that our visit to you was not a failure. We had previously suffered and been insulted in Philippi, as you know, but with the help of our God we dared to tell you his Good News in spite of strong opposition.

For the appeal we make does not spring from error or impure motives, nor are we trying to trick you. On the contrary, we speak as men approved by God to be entrusted with the Good News.

We are not trying to please men but God, who tests our hearts.

You know we never used flattery, nor did we put on a mask to cover up greed—God is our witness. We were not looking for praise from men, not from you or anyone else. (1 Thessalonians 2:1-6)

Is not the very same thing happening today? Those who claim to be believers in Christ, most of the American Christians, are all going along with the crowd to support modern day Israel as the “chosen people,” the Zionists, denying the Good News that God’s grace and redemption is for anyone, regardless of nationality or religion, and that those who believe in this Good News and follow it, are born of God as Abraham’s spiritual seed, and are the “chosen people” today.

Here there is no Greek or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all, and is in all. Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. (Colossians 3:11-12)

As you come to him, a living stone rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen and precious, you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

For it stands in Scripture: “Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone, a cornerstone chosen and precious, and whoever believes in him will not be put to shame.”

So the honor is for you who believe, but for those who do not believe, “The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone,” and “A stone of stumbling, and a rock of offense.”

They stumble because they disobey the word, as they were destined to do.

But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. Once you were not a people, but now you are God’s people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy. (1 Peter 2:4-10)

We may be coming to the end of all ages and World War III in the days ahead, as the Zionists gain in power and popularity, and move beyond mere censorship as they are doing today, and begin to attack and imprison the true followers of Jesus Christ, perhaps even executing some of us.

Will you take a stand for the Truth and count the cost as the minority people of God as you seek to please him? Or will you cower in fear, and seek the approval of men and go along with the crowd and the Zionists?

Israel’s objectives unfeasible without civilian deaths – US general

Lucas Leiroz, journalist, researcher at the Center for Geostrategic Studies, geopolitical consultant.

Analysts are debunking Israel’s narrative about neutralizing Hamas without generating civilian casualties. In a densely populated region and with the Resistance’s forces knowing the terrain much better than the Israelis, the IDF will certainly have serious problems to achieve its objectives – at least in an ethical, legal and humanitarian way.

According to retired US Army general Robert Abrams, it is highly “unlikely” that the IDF will be able to defeat Hamas without creating a bloodbath in Gaza. He says the fighting will be hard and intense in the midst of a highly populated area, making Gaza a scenario unlike anything the IDF or American troops have seen in recent decades.

“I think it’s going to be what I would consider nearly impossible, to destroy Hamas, to eliminate their capability to do harm to Israel and Israeli people, while simultaneously protecting what some people have estimated as to be a million Palestinians who are in harm’s way and they can’t get out of harm’s way (…) This is going to be a very difficult task for the Israeli Defense Forces, that the defense that Hamas will put up in that very dense urban terrain, unlike anything that we’ve seen in recent years, is going to require some very siege fighting, and simultaneously trying to ensure that the Israelis do not target unwittingly the locations of the hostages (…) This is going to prove to be a very difficult task and we’ll just have to see how their plan plays out here over the coming days”, he said.

These difficulties were previously predicted by other analysts and currently appear to be the main concern of the American armed forces. The US wants to prevent its ally in the Middle East from promoting a massacre that would make it even more difficult to circumvent international political and diplomatic pressure against Tel Aviv. Therefore, despite supporting Israel militarily, including sending special troops, the US repeatedly insisted that the ground invasion plan should not go ahead.

In addition to the massacre of Palestinian civilians, which has become commonplace in Gaza, there are risks for Israeli citizens held as prisoners by Hamas fighters. Both in its incursions on the ground and in its incessant bombings, Israel puts the lives of prisoners at risk, with dozens of them having reportedly died as a side effect of these attacks. The result of this is that Israeli society itself tends to criticize the government for its actions and demand an end to the attacks on Gaza, since, instead of “destroying Hamas”, Israel is only killing Palestinian and Jewish civilians.

The main problem, however, is that Netanyahu has promised real revenge and is in a politically uncomfortable situation. All paths seem to result in unfavorable scenarios for his government. Military actions, if carried out, will lead to the death of civilians and damage the international image of the Zionist regime. On the other hand, a military retreat will make Netanyahu look like a weak leader incapable of defeating his enemies – which could lead to an unprecedented political crisis in Tel Aviv.

The most rational attitude on the part of Tel Aviv would be to obey the requests for a total ceasefire and begin to change its policy towards Palestine, stopping apartheid, ethnic cleansing and expansionism so that there is no longer a military reaction against Israel. But irrationality and anti-strategic revanchism seem to be more prominent in Tel Aviv than political realism.

It is also necessary to emphasize that even Israeli experts are already warning the Netanyahu government about the catastrophic consequences of a humanitarian crisis in Gaza and demanding a change in the strategy against Hamas, asking that, instead of military measures, political actions be implemented to facilitate a dialogue with Palestine.

For example, IDF veteran and political activist Benzion Sanders recently wrote:

“For years, many of us on the left in Israel have been warned that we will never have peace and security until we find a political agreement in which Palestinians achieve freedom and independence (…) It isn’t just human rights activists taking this position: Even Ami Ayalon, the former head of the Israeli security service Shin Bet, has argued for years that Palestinian terror can be defeated only by creating Palestinian hope.”

Regardless of his government’s delicate situation, Netanyahu should pay attention to the experts’ analysis and prioritize a humanitarian solution. It remains to be seen how Netanyahu will react to critical opinions, although evidence indicates that he will ignore them.

Kiev neo-Nazi regime reportedly behind uprising in Dagestan

Lucas Leiroz, journalist, researcher at the Center for Geostrategic Studies, geopolitical consultant.

Anti-Jewish unrest took place in Russia’s Dagestan, generating concern among authorities. Muslim protesters stormed the local airport and attempted to attack Israeli Jews who had reportedly emigrated to the Russian Federation. Apparently, the case has links with Ukrainian intelligence, but it is also notorious how Israel’s criminal actions are favoring the emergence of reactive antisemitic sentiments around the world.

The incident happened on October 29th. The Makhachkala international airport in the Republic of Dagestan was taken over by angry protesters screaming “Allahu Akbar!” and “hunting” Israeli refugees who had supposedly arrived there. Many of the protesters carried Palestinian flags. Instead of a peaceful demonstration, the unrest looked like a rebellion by fanatics seeking revenge. However, Russian authorities were effective in neutralizing the threat and preventing damage.

Previously, some other cases of anti-Jewish attacks had been reported in Dagestan and other Muslim-majority Russian regions. For example, the day before, there was an invasion against a hotel where Israeli citizens were supposedly staying. There was also an attempted vandalism against a Jewish cultural center in the Nalchik region. But none of these cases was on the scale of the airport attack.

In fact, Russian authorities firmly condemned the demonstrations. Of particular importance were the pronouncements of Islamic authorities in Russian regions such as Chechnya. Both Muslim and non-Muslim officials spoke quite clearly in their position, affirming support for the Palestinian people, but condemning all anti-Jewish hatred and criminal attacks against Israeli citizens.

It is known that the protests were the result of online rumors spread by the administrators of a Telegram channel called Utro Dagestana (‘Dagestan Morning’). Allegations about the possible arrival of Israelis in Dagestan and encouragement of attacks were occurring openly on the channel. Both Russian authorities and the Killnet hacker group consider the channel an asset of the Ukrainian intelligence service.

Interestingly, Ilya Ponomarev, a prominent expatriate Russian politician based in Kiev, has sometimes stated that Utro Dagestana is a part of his personal network of resources in the information war against Russia. As an opposition leader and working highly against Moscow, Ponomarev obviously has an interest in the destabilization of Russia, which shows the reasons why the violent protests were motivated.

The attempt to foment chaos in Russia through ethnic and religious separatism is not new. Western intelligence has been trying for years to make Russia’s non-Christian majority regions real battlegrounds against Moscow. Russia has been effective at neutralizing threats and maintaining national cohesion, so it appears that foreign agents are changing their strategy. Now, instead of Moscow, the targets of attacks are foreign citizens. With this, Ukrainian intelligence manipulates popular and religious emotions to attack innocent Israeli citizens, damaging the international image of Russia – which could be seen as an “antisemitic” country.

Indeed, there is nothing capable of justifying attacks on civilians and racist attempts to punish ordinary Israeli citizens for crimes committed by the IDF. However, it is clear that Tel Aviv’s anti-humanitarian actions are helping to fuel antisemitic sentiments around the world. The actions of Ukrainian intelligence were only effective because a strong anti-Israel mentality began to grow among Muslims as a consequence of the IDF’s crimes.

The work of intelligence agents consists precisely in transforming these legitimate opinions of indignation into uncontrolled hatred against ordinary people. Therefore, it is possible to say that the successful operation of networks like the Utro Dagestana group is made possible by Israel’s illegal actions. In other words, the Zionist State is helping to spread antisemitism around the world.

Just as Russian officials must remain alert to the role played by Ukrainian intelligence agents in fomenting social instability in the Federation, Israeli officials should pay attention to the negative effects of their actions on the Jewish people abroad. The Israeli government needs to know that its actions have consequences. The more the people of Gaza are massacred, the more there will be a negative reaction – and it is inevitable that some of these reactions will go out of control and take on an extremist aspect. Outside of Israel, this could pose a threat to innocent civilian Jews.

Russia will certainly work in order to ensure that Jews are protected on its territory. As a multi-ethnic country with a large Jewish population, this is a priority for the Federation – and Moscow has the necessary means to achieve this. However, in countries where Jews live in vulnerable circumstances, the situation can be really disturbing. Israel, as a Jewish State, should take these analyzes into consideration before ordering its troops to carry out ethnic cleansing in Gaza.

U.S. QUIETLY EXPANDS SECRET MILITARY BASE IN ISRAEL

man wearing black blazer

Source: The Intercept Daniel Boguslaw and Ken Klippenstein

TWO MONTHS BEFORE Hamas attacked Israel, the Pentagon awarded a multimillion-dollar contract to build U.S. troop facilities for a secret base it maintains deep within Israel’s Negev desert, just 20 miles from Gaza. Code-named “Site 512,” the longstanding U.S. base is a radar facility that monitors the skies for missile attacks on Israel.

On October 7, however, when thousands of Hamas rockets were launched, Site 512 saw nothing — because it is focused on Iran, more than 700 miles away.

The U.S. Army is quietly moving ahead with construction at Site 512, a classified base perched atop Mt. Har Qeren in the Negev, to include what government records describe as a “life support facility”: military speak for barracks-like structures for personnel.

Though President Joe Biden and the White House insist that there are no plans to send U.S. troops to Israel amid its war on Hamas, a secret U.S. military presence in Israel already exists. And the government contracts and budget documents show it is evidently growing.

The $35.8 million U.S. troop facility, not publicly announced or previously reported, was obliquely referenced in an August 2 contract announcement by the Pentagon. Though the Defense Department has taken pains to obscure the site’s true nature — describing it in other records merely as a “classified worldwide” project — budget documents reviewed by The Intercept reveal that it is part of Site 512. (The Pentagon did not immediately respond to a request for comment.)

“Sometimes something is treated as an official secret not in the hope that an adversary would never find out about it but rather [because] the U.S. government, for diplomatic or political reasons, does not want to officially acknowledge it,” Paul Pillar, a former chief analyst at the CIA’s counterterrorism center who said he had no specific knowledge of the base, told The Intercept. “In this case, perhaps the base will be used to support operations elsewhere in the Middle East in which any acknowledgment that they were staged from Israel, or involved any cooperation with Israel, would be inconvenient and likely to elicit more negative reactions than the operations otherwise would elicit.”

Rare acknowledgment of the U.S. military presence in Israel came in 2017, when the two countries inaugurated a military site that the U.S. government-funded Voice of America deemed “the first American military base on Israeli soil.” Israeli Air Force’s Brig. Gen. Tzvika Haimovitch called it “historic.” He said, “We established an American base in the State of Israel, in the Israel Defense Forces, for the first time.”

HAMAS ATTACK PROVIDES “RARE OPPORTUNITY” TO CLEANSE GAZA, ISRAELI THINK TANK SAYS

A day later, the U.S. military denied that it was an American base, insisting that it was merely a “living facility” for U.S. service members working at an Israeli base.

The U.S. military employs similar euphemistic language to characterize the new facility in Israel, which its procurement records describe as a “life support area.” Such obfuscation is typical of U.S. military sites the Pentagon wants to conceal. Site 512 has previously been referred to as a “cooperative security location”: a designation that is intended to confer a low-cost, light footprint presence but has been applied to bases that, as The Intercept has previously reported, can house as many as 1,000 troops.

Site 512, however, wasn’t established to contend with a threat to Israel from Palestinian militants but the danger posed by Iranian mid-range missiles.

The overwhelming focus on Iran continues to play out in the U.S. government’s response to the Hamas attack. In an attempt to counter Iran — which aids both Hamas and Israel’s rival to the north, Hezbollah, a Lebanese political group with a robust military wing, both of which are considered terror groups by the U.S. — the Pentagon has vastly expanded its presence in the Middle East. Following the attack, the U.S. doubled the number of fighter jets in the region and deployed two aircraft carriers off the coast of Israel.

“My speculation is that the secrecy is a holdover from when U.S. presidential administrations tried to offer a pretense of not siding with Israel.”

Top Republicans like Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell have nonetheless castigated Biden for his purported “weakness on Iran.” While some media accounts have said Iran played a role in planning the Hamas attack, there have been indications from the U.S. intelligence community that Iranian officials were surprised by the attack.

The history of the U.S.–Israel relationship may be behind the failure to acknowledge the base, said an expert on overseas U.S. military bases.

“My speculation is that the secrecy is a holdover from when U.S. presidential administrations tried to offer a pretense of not siding with Israel in the Israeli-Palestinian and Israeli-Arab conflicts,” David Vine, a professor of anthropology at American University, told The Intercept. “The announcement of U.S. military bases in Israel in recent years likely reflects the dropping of that pretense and a desire to more publicly proclaim support for Israel.”

Israel having serious problems with its ground invasion plan

men holding rifle while walking through smoke grenade

Lucas Leiroz, journalist, researcher at the Center for Geostrategic Studies, geopolitical consultant.

Israel continues to face serious difficulties in conducting its ground operation in the Gaza Strip. Many factors make the local battlefield extremely difficult for the IDF, most notably the fact that Hamas troops use a complex network of tunnels to move, store weapons and carry out surprise attacks. Furthermore, the debris from buildings destroyed by the IDF also became an obstacle for Israeli troops and American special units involved in the operation.

Confirming what several experts had predicted, Tel Aviv is having many problems in its ground invasion plan in Gaza. In recent days, several reports are showing that Israel’s long-awaited ground operation has already begun, but it has been extremely frustrating for Israeli ambitions. Between October 22nd and 27th, there were important raids against Gaza, but apparently the moves were quickly neutralized by Hamas forces.

On October 27, Netanyahu made a public statement officially announcing that the “new phase” of the war had already begun. According to him, the objectives of the ground raids are to destroy Hamas’ political and military capabilities, in addition to rescuing captured Israeli citizens.

“Last night, additional ground forces entered Gaza, marking the beginning of the second stage of the war, whose goal is to destroy the military and political capabilities of Hamas and to bring our kidnapped citizens back”, Netanyahu said. In the same vein, IDF’s Chief of Staff, General Herzi Halevi, advised: “There are no achievements without risks, and there is no victory without prices being paid. In order to expose the enemy and destroy it, there is no other way but to enter its territory with great force.”

Special units of the American military are believed to be fighting alongside the Israelis in the ground raids. There are reports that the US “Delta” special unit is participating in the operations, but Washington is avoiding commenting on the case publicly. However, not even with this type of help is it possible to carry out an incisive incursion. On October 25, former Pentagon adviser Douglas Macgregor said that Israeli and American troops who attempted to enter Gaza were “shot to pieces and took heavy losses”.

All of this was predicted by the experts. Israeli troops have great difficulties in carrying out physical combat and are not skilled in situations of prolonged frictions. The same can be said about American special units, which have no experience in the Gaza region. On the other hand, Hamas and allied militias are familiar to the local geography, know the territory better than the enemy and have the advantage of using their underground tunnels both to carry out surprise attacks and to evade when they suffer losses.

The only way for the land operation to be carried out successfully by Israel is to considerably increase the levels of violence, which tends to cause many side effects and civilian casualties. Israel is relying on combined operations of ground raids and extremely violent aerial bombardments, which is further increasing the number of civilian casualties. In practice, the Israeli government is being severely affected by this strategy, as international reactions to Zionist violence are negative, generating political and diplomatic pressure against Tel Aviv.

Concerned about the growth of this pressure, American officials reportedly advised Israel to rethink its land invasion strategy. What was planned to be a definitive invasion with a large number of troops became a sequence of small ground assaults with a reduced number of soldiers and special units. Reports show that American officials are trying to prevent a bloodbath from occurring in the densely populated regions of Gaza – not because there is a genuine humanitarian concern, but because it affects the diplomatic image of Israel and its American supporters. This explains why in recent days Tel Aviv has been launching small-scale raids.

The problem is that this plan is also unlikely to be successful, as Hamas is proving strong enough to repel the invaders. The constant defeats increase internal pressure in Israeli society and force the government to increase violence with bombings – which in turn generates international pressure given the humanitarian impact. With this, the Israeli government once again appears to be in a trap from which it cannot escape.

There is another factor that also harms the IDF considerably. As a result of the bombings, there are many debris from collapsed buildings in Gaza’s streets. The roads and villages are damaged and there are all sorts of obstacles on the ground. This makes the transit of tanks and armored vehicles very difficult. This type of equipment has serious difficulties operating in urban areas, especially with debris on the streets, which is why the IDF will certainly need to rely almost exclusively on its infantry, substantially increasing the chances of prolonged frictions.

In fact, Israel’s choice to wage an all-out war in Gaza appears to have been extremely anti-strategic. Any step taken by the Zionist state will have serious consequences. Small incursions will be defeated, large bombing will generate international pressure and a large-scale invasion will lead to an intervention by the Axis of Resistance, creating new flanks.

Israel reportedly planning to use banned chemical weapons in Gaza

Lucas Leiroz, journalist, researcher at the Center for Geostrategic Studies, geopolitical consultant.

There seems to be no ethical limits to the IDF’s anti-humanitarian practices against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip. According to local sources, the Israeli military is planning a chemical attack against Hamas’ underground tunnels. In addition to being illegal, the practice seems anti-strategic because with this maneuver the IDF could also kill Israeli citizens kept as prisoners of war by Hamas in the bunkers.

Rumors began to spread by local Palestinian correspondents, citing intelligence sources. According to the report, Israeli and American forces were working together to flood the bunkers with chemical weapons, mainly nerve gases. The objective would be to cause severe symptoms in Palestinian soldiers, facilitating an IDF invasion.

“The plan hinges on the element of surprise so as to decisively win the battle, using internationally forbidden gases, particularly nerve gas, and chemical weapons. Large quantities of nerve gas would be pumped into the tunnels (…) Inhaled or absorbed through the skin, most nerve gases can kill in anywhere between one to 10 minutes by crippling the respiratory centre of the central nervous system and paralysing the muscles around the lungs”, source said.

The sources also claim that Israel is postponing its incursion into the field to try to provoke an element of surprise when the invasion finally takes place. The objective is to deceive the enemy, in accordance with the elementary principles of military science, inducing the Palestinians to believe that the invasion will not occur at any time. So, when it happens, it will be something unexpected and capable of causing severe damage to the enemy.

Obviously, Israel and the US deny the accusations and claim that they are nothing more than unsubstantiated rumors. However, no solid argument is given to actually deny the “rumors”. On the contrary, Israeli military even used racist rhetoric to delegitimize the reports, stating that believing in an Arab official would be a sign of “ignorance.”

“It is utmost ignorance and naivety to rely on a chatter by some Arab official with regard to this matter and to take it seriously (…) Usually there should be logic [behind any military action]. What’s the point of releasing gas into these underground tunnels?”, Yaakov Kedmi, an Israeli military expert said. In the same sense, Sabrina Singh, a spokesperson for the US Department of Defense commented on the case stating: “This is not true and this reporting is inaccurate.”

However, it is important to emphasize that this is not the first time that journalistic reports citing sources familiar with Israeli military have suggested that Israel will use anti-humanitarian methods to attack Hamas’ tunnels. For example, a few days ago, US investigative journalist Seymour Hersh stated that occupation forces plan to use seawater to flood bunkers in order to kill Hamas members. In this type of operation, as well as in the use of gas, there would be many risks to hostages and prisoners of war, but, according to Hersh and his sources, Israel’s only real objective is to kill Hamas soldiers, with little concern for hostages.

“A well-informed American official told me that the Israeli leadership is known to be considering flooding Hamas’s vast tunnel system before sending in its troops, many of whom have had only a few weeks of training in the maneuvers and coordination required for the invasion (…) Where the estimated 200-plus hostages are is an open question. Israel is only talking about the end of the Hamas regime”, Hersh said.

In fact, these rumors and reports suggest that something serious is probably actually being planned by the IDF. There does not yet appear to be a consensus among Israeli officials on what techniques should be used against Hamas, but they are evidently thinking about different strategies to overcome the challenge of confronting Hamas’ complex system of tunnels. Israel wants to prevent Gaza from becoming its “Vietnam” but cannot find an efficient combat strategy to achieve this goal.

It is necessary to remember that Israel has been spreading accusations against Hamas recently, alleging that the Palestinian organization plans to use chemical weapons. It is unlikely that Hamas has this type of weapon, as the group’s capabilities do not allow for the manufacture of sophisticated equipment. Furthermore, the only country that publicly has stocks of chemical weapons is precisely the US, which is Israel’s biggest ally. It is possible then that Tel Aviv will use these illegal weapons in Gaza, not only to launch them in the tunnels, but also to carry out a false flag operation against Hamas and legitimize further escalations.

The only thing that seems clear so far is that the Zionist government remains convinced in its objective of carrying out a process of ethnic cleansing, collective punishment and actual massacre in Gaza. The possible use of chemical weapons will only worsen the international image of the Israeli regime, as this type of equipment is banned by international law.
