“It is only a few weeks away from the accumulation of fissile material that will be enough for a first bomb, it holds 60 kg of enriched material at 60%, it produces metallic uranium at an enrichment level of 20% and prevents IAEA access to its facilities,” he added.
Last month, the head of the UN nuclear watchdog confirmed that Iran had set up a new centrifugal laboratory at the Natanz nuclear facility.
The director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Rafael Grossi, said the machines had been moved from Karaj near Tehran to the new site, which he said was about three floors below ground, to protect against airstrikes.
