Israel Levels AP and Al Jazeera Press Building and Other War updates
The Israeli military this morning, attacked and destroyed by force, the mass-media building in the Gaza Strip. TV & Radio Stations, and print newspaper facilities are now gone.
This building was the main Press building in the Gaza Strip.
The Al Jalaa tower in Gaza housed The Associated Press, Al Jazeera, AFP and other international media organizations.
Here is some video of that buildings destruction. I guess this is how Israel treats freedom of the press?

The Associated Press and Al Jazeera have both issued statements condemning the bombing of Gaza media offices by the Israeli military, claiming that the “disturbing” attack almost killed several reporters.
Following the targeted bombing on Saturday, which destroyed the building containing international media offices in Gaza, AP President and CEO Gary Pruitt said the company was “shocked and horrified that the Israeli military would target and destroy the building,” as they have “long known the location of our bureau and knew journalists were there.”
“We are seeking information from the Israeli government and are engaged with the US State Department to try to learn more,” he revealed, calling the bombing “an incredibly disturbing development.”
Though the news organization received warning to evacuate the building around an hour before the airstrike, Pruitt said they “narrowly avoided a terrible loss of life.”
“A dozen AP journalists and freelancers were inside the building and thankfully we were able to evacuate them in time,” he concluded.
The world will know less about what is happening in Gaza because of what happened today.
In their own statement, Al Jazeera accused the Israeli government of trying to “silence media that are witnessing, documenting and reporting the truth of what is happening in Gaza.”
“This is a crime among a series of crimes perpetrated by the Israeli army in the Gaza Strip,” said Al Jazeera Jerusalem bureau chief Walid al-Omari, who added that it would be “impossible” to stop the truth.
The Israel Defense Forces justified the attack by alleging that Hamas was also using the building for “intelligence gathering” and other purposes, and that it had thus become a “lawful military target.”
Although the rocket fire from Gaza and elsewhere has calmed down somewhat today (5-15-21) there were still Israeli cities being struck throughout the night like here in Ashdod.
The tensions have spread to other border areas like with Lebanon where a youth was killed by Israeli fire when he tried to cross the security fence.
A 21-year-old Lebanese man, Mohammad Tahhan, died of his wounds on Friday as a result of Israeli fire after he and others in a group of youths had tried to cross a security fence on the border with Israel, Lebanon’s state news agency reported.
And of course the bombardments inside of Gaza continue. Israel has vowed to keep these operations going for at least another week. Here is video from Gaza last night, 5-14-21.
Also there are hundreds of vehicles and people ready to cross over from Egypt as well. This is riling up the entire Middle East.
Finally I have an update from the Military and Foreign affairs network on YouTube. As he states in the video while there are more Israeli ground forces gathering at the border with Gaza, he doesn’t anticipate them going into Gaza as they would take heavy casualties (like they did in Lebanon in 2006).
