The Genesis 12 Mistake Affecting Millions of Christians

mistake written on a notebook

6 So also Abraham “believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.”
7 Understand, then, that those who have faith are children of Abraham.
8 Scripture foresaw that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, and announced the gospel in advance to Abraham: “All nations will be blessed through you.” Galatians 3: 6-8 Abraham was a Gentile in Genesis 12. Circumcision wouldn’t come until years later and that is NOT what made Abraham righteous before God, despite what some channels are trying to teach. That’s Hebrew Roots nonsense.

From the video description:

The Verse That Misled Millions: The Truth About Genesis 12:3
Is Christian Zionism actually biblical? In this deep dive, Catholic biblical scholar Robert Sungenis, PhD, challenges the widely held interpretation of Genesis 12:2-3, a passage frequently cited by Senator Ted Cruz, Mike Huckabee, and Pete Hegseth to justify modern geopolitical stances.

Many Christians have been taught that God’s promise to “bless those who bless you” refers specifically to the Jewish race and the modern nation-state of Israel. But what if the “Sunday school” interpretation is based on a 20th-century distortion?

What You Will Learn:
The Gentile Abraham: Why Romans 4 and Galatians 3 prove that Abraham received his blessing while he was still a Gentile, not a Jew.

The Scofield Deception: How the 1967 New Scofield Reference Bible inserted personal opinions into footnotes, altering the way millions of Americans read their Bibles.

The “Ebrayee” Mystery: The linguistic reality behind the word “Hebrew” in Genesis 14 and why it doesn’t mean what you think it does.

New Testament Commentary: How the Apostle Paul’s letters to the Romans and Galatians provide the definitive key to understanding God’s promise to Abraham.

The Scofield Reference Bible has been described as a piece of theological propaganda that treats the Church as a “parenthesis.” It’s time to look at what the text actually says and how the New Testament interprets the Old.

  • Totally wrong, once again. You conveniently left out Gen 26:5 “because Abraham obeyed My voice and kept My charge, My commandments, My statutes, and My laws.”
Abraham believed God and was faithful, showing his faith thru obedience!
1 John 2-4: Anyone who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

    • Yes and God said his FAITH saved him, not his circumcision which came 25 years later. You need to study more.

    • Plus who said anything about not obeying His commandments??? Stop putting words in my mouth and falsely accusing, or did you skip that part??? I get so tired of you ignoramuses’!

    • You just don’t like Galatians and the writing of Paul because it completely destroys the Hebrew Roots NONSENSE! You are severed from Christ, you who would be justified by the law; you have fallen away from grace. Galatians 5:4

      • 6 And he believed in the Lord, and He accounted it to him for righteousness. Genesis 15:8

      • You REALLY need to read your Bible. Is this the same Paul that said?
Rom 2:13 for not the hearers of the law are just in the sight of God, but the doers of the law will be justified
Rom 7:12 Therefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy and just and good.
Rom 3:31 Do we then make void the law through faith? Certainly not! On the contrary, we establish the law.

2 pet 3:16 The Apostle Peter talking about Paul says:
as also in all his letters, speaking in them of these things, in which there are some things that are hard to understand, which the untaught and unstable distort, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures, to their own destruction.

You my friend are clearly untaught, and unstable.
Take the Bible off of the coffee table and read it!

      • Funny how you never address anything from Galatians and how you take Romans out of context in order to distort its true meaning. How am I mentally unstable? You’re the one on dangerous ground by adding burdens to the gospel.

      • Poor Tom has so much to learn about the Israel of God!:

    • You (“TOM”) are a classic Luciferian agent who only trolls and lurks for destruction purposes only. Your lame projectionism is so boringly cliche in the Luciferian guide book that it has become humorous and pathetic all at the same stroke. And besides, a lurking Luciferian such as yourself on Brother Johnny’s website is considered rude. The video and what Brother Johnny said exposes for what it is of the demonic “Hebrew Roots” nonsense and beyond, including you. All it did was agitate the demons in you that you are untaught, unstable, distort, and utilized in abuse of the rest of Scriptures for the destruction of people’s souls, including you own. Take your Luciferian guide book off the coffee table and start over! Amen to Brother Johnny who speaks God’s truth, always!!!!!!

      • It’s sad, and somewhat comical how I can submit Holy Scripture that supports my position about the law, but all I get in response is name calling.
Mt 7: 21-23, 21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ 23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of LAWLESSNESS.’

      • 8Be indebted to no one, except to one another in love. For he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law. 9The commandments “Do not commit adultery,” “Do not murder,” “Do not steal,” “Do not covet,” and any other commandments, are summed up in this one decree: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”… You forgot about Romans 13:8. You guys never keep it in context.

      • Likewise, my brothers, you also have died to the law through the body of Christ, so that you may belong to another, to him who has been raised from the dead, in order that we may bear fruit for God. Romans 7:4 Died to the law through the body of Christ. What part of that is so hard to understand?

    • It’s sad and comical that you show searing pride as of your father of lies does. Your humorous projectionism against Brother Johnny and me, or whoever opposes your Luciferian tactics never ceases to amaze me that how Scripture doesn’t support your position at all but your eternal damnation. God’s Word will always be true when you’re cast out of God’s presence forever, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of LAWLESSNESS.’
