I’ve Got Some Bad News for You…
Ever since COVID in 2020, it seems like I’ve been hit with some kind of health challenge each year. Beginning in 2022, shortly after my colon cancer scare, I started belching after breakfast. It slowly got worse during that year, and I was referred to a gut specialist. It eventually put me in the hospital in the summer of 2023 as I was severely dehydrated and not doing well.
While I don’t trust the medical industry I wanted to get to the bottom of what was happening so I could fix it from the ground up, I didn’t want to just treat the symptoms which they didn’t have an answer for anyway.
The VA doctors and specialists came up with anti nausea meds (can give seizures) and prescription strength Prilosec because I had some acid reflux with the belching. Well yeah when you belch uncontrollably a lot eventually acid will come up, but it didn’t mean I needed Prilosec which at the end of the day made things worse.
When all of the testing was done they said “you have slow digestion but no blockage.” Ok but WHY is it slow and what can we do about it? Does it relate to the belching? All I heard was crickets and that my case was atypical.
Now after 4 plus years I have finally eliminated the belching which is called Magenblase Syndrome. I made a few changes to my diet but it was my chiropractor who made the most difference. He showed me what I had, what it was called and through his adjustments he was able to help fix the nerve connections that were malfunctioning and causing my pyloric sphincter to malfunction.
I am thankful to God that the nonstop belching—sometimes lasting up to 16 hours a day—has finally ended, but a new and serious issue has emerged. This problem began when the belching first started in 2022, has steadily worsened despite every effort to address it, and is now becoming a major concern.
For reasons I can’t explain my A1C glucose score keeps going up. Everything that I did to keep it in check for years is no longer working and I’m stumped. I had kept my numbers down at 6.5 or less for years through diet, supplements and exercise and now they have risen to 10.2 in 4 years. It has slowed down but that’s all I’ve been able to do using my regimen.
There are no physical reasons I should be having this issue but like I said the rise in my glucose began when my Magenblase syndrome started so I definitely believe they’re related. You see I couldn’t absorb nutrients when I was really sick and most of the supplements I was taking and the food I was eating were just going right through me. Once that started then the glucose numbers began to rise.
My diet is very strict and contains no processed foods or refined sugars. I don’t snack at all anymore, I fast on a regular basis, I drink filtered water and hydrogen water with 2 or 3 cups of coffee during the day. I use monk fruit for sweetener which causes no glucose spikes. I exercise (walking and bodyweight workout) on a regular basis as well so I’m doing everything everyone says you need to do in order to succeed at controlling my glucose and yet I’m failing. Why?
At this point the doctors want to put me on all kinds of different drugs, many of which can cause digestive paralysis so no thank you. After what I’ve just come through with my guts I’m not going backwards and those meds would foul me up and quite possibly make things worse.
So now what? For now I will continue to pray for healing and tweak my regimen where needed, but I will not go on their meds as they’re all poison, and they won’t treat the root cause. I will rely on God for my answers as always and I already know I have nothing to fear. If I die then I’ll be in paradise and if not then God’s grace will carry me through the storm. That gives me peace so I will let go and let God, just like I always tell everyone else to do when big trouble hits.
I can say with 100% certainty that Jesus has never let me down, not once. I can also say with the same certainty that I have done everything I can on my end. I have been very disciplined in prayer and my physical regimen with very few “cheat days”.
Overall I have felt pretty good and my energy levels have been decent other than some lack of sleep due to getting up to use the bathroom. That happens when your glucose is too high.
With that being said I don’t plan on going anywhere and I’ll keep working as long as I have breath in this body, just as I’ve done in spite of my health issues. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me, Philippians 4:13. I may not post as often as I’m taking more time away for myself and my wife. After this week I won’t compromise on that anymore.
I’ve been using this downtime to study more and it’s been quite enlightening. I’ve been doing some deep dives into some things as I’ve shown you on the YouTube community page, so stay tuned. God willing I’ll be sharing some of that soon.
Blessings to you all,
Johnny
