Forget Flock: Now the cameras read your pockets
A defence contractor called Leonardo has decided that reading your plate is no longer enough. Their new system, ELSAG SignalTrace, reads everything else you’re carrying.
It also records anyone else’s devices who happen to be with you in the car, at home, at work, or at any given time. If you’re near one of their sensors (they’re all over the place now) they will detect you and those with you.
Read that as: who you commute with, who you live with, who you keep meeting. The system infers relationships you never declared, from devices you don’t consciously think about the majority of the time.
