What Does it Mean that Jesus Fulfilled the Law but didn’t abolish it?

Last night as I was tossing and turning in bed the Holy Spirit spoke to me and suggested I get up and study and He would show me the answer I was seeking regarding this subject.

It’s a very important question to answer because we have movements like the Hebrew Roots movement that’s trying to convince the body of Christ that we must use ONLY Hebrew translations of the Bible when it’s been established history that the New Testament is written in Greek.

They also want you to only use Jesus Hebrew name of Yeshua and some attach other titles to it and if you don’t say it all correctly then your prayers are in vain. While I addressed this on my YouTube community page I wanted to get into more depth and today I will share some things I was shown last night on this subject. My commentary is in the video below.

Consider what Jesus did not do in His ministry. In Matthew 5:17, Jesus says that He did not come to abolish the Law and the Prophets. In other words, Jesus’ purpose was not to abrogate the Word, dissolve it, or render it invalid. The Prophets will be fulfilled; the Law will continue to accomplish the purpose for which it was given (see Isaiah 55:10–11).

Next, consider what Jesus did do. Jesus says that He came to fulfill the Law and the Prophets. In other words, Jesus’ purpose was to establish the Word, to embody it, and to fully accomplish all that was written. “Christ is the culmination of the law” (Romans 10:4). The predictions of the Prophets concerning the Messiah would be realized in Jesus; the holy standard of the Law would be perfectly upheld by Christ, the strict requirements personally obeyed, and the ceremonial observances finally and fully satisfied.

Jesus Christ fulfilled the Prophets in that, in His first coming alone, He fulfilled hundreds of prophecies concerning Himself (e.g., Matthew 1:2213:35John 19:36Luke 24:44). Jesus Christ fulfilled the Law in at least two ways: as a teacher and as a doer. He taught people to obey the Law (Matthew 22:35–40Mark 1:44), and He obeyed the Law Himself (John 8:461 Peter 2:22). In living a perfect life, Jesus fulfilled the moral laws; in His sacrificial death, Jesus fulfilled the ceremonial laws. Christ came not to destroy the old religious system but to build upon it; He came to finish the Old Covenant and establish the New.

Jesus came not to destroy the Law and the Prophets but to fulfill them. In fact, the ceremonies, sacrifices, and other elements of the Old Covenant were “only a shadow of the good things that are coming—not the realities themselves” (Hebrews 10:1). The tabernacle and temple were “holy places made with hands,” but they were never meant to be permanent; they were but “copies of the true things” (Hebrews 9:24, ESV). The Law had a built-in expiration date, being filled as it was with “external regulations applying until the time of the new order” (Hebrews 9:10).

In His fulfillment of the Law and Prophets, Jesus obtained our eternal salvation. No more were priests required to offer sacrifices and enter the holy place (Hebrews 10:8–14). Jesus has done that for us, once and for all. By grace through faith, we are made right with God: “He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross” (Colossians 2:14).

There are some who argue that, since Jesus did not “abolish” the Law, then the Law is still in effect—and still binding on New Testament Christians. But Paul is clear that the believer in Christ is no longer under the Law: “We were held in custody under the Law, locked up until faith should be revealed. So the Law became our guardian to lead us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith. Now that faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian” (Galatians 3:23–25, BSB). We are not under the Mosaic Law but under “the law of Christ” (see Galatians 6:2).

If the Law is still binding on us today, then it has not yet accomplished its purpose—it has not yet been fulfilled. If the Law, as a legal system, is still binding on us today, then Jesus was wrong in claiming to fulfill it and His sacrifice on the cross was insufficient to save. Thank God, Jesus fulfilled the whole Law and now grants us His righteousness as a free gift. “Know that a person is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law no one will be justified” (Galatians 2:16).

This post closes the book on this subject for me. I will NEVER ALLOW ANYONE to infiltrate this website, the YT channel or MY SOUL with the heretical HRM teachings in the comment section. It is leaven and it is spreading through the body of Christ and seeks to enslave it with the curse of the law once again. We have modern day Pharisees in our midst and they will be rooted out soon by Jesus Christ Himself when he returns!

Hope in Christ Alone, What it Means and How to Practice it Daily…

Today’s Bible study comes from Crosswalk.com . In this lesson we learn how to PRACTICE hope, not just expect it to show up. In this article we learn 8 ways to practice our hope in Jesus Christ. I will list them below and embed the video lesson to go with it. I pray it helps those who needed to hear this today! God bless and stay ready!

8 Ways to Practice Having Hope in Christ

  1. Pray often. Pray without ceasing. When you don’t know what to pray, say the Name of Jesus. Pray God’s Word.
  2. Remind yourself of who you are in Christ. He delights in you! You are His child. You are chosen. You are loved. You are forgiven. You have the hope of eternity.
  3. Confide in a friend. Do not suffer alone. Send out a plea for help by text. Let others walk alongside you in your trials.
  4. Go outside. Nature can be therapeutic. Take a walk. Thank God for His beautiful creation.
  5. Count your blessings. Actually name them. Write them down. Create a gratitude journal and add to it daily. Count your blessings one by one…
  6. Praise. Did you know that when we worship and praise our Father the enemy flees? Praise silences the enemy. So turn up the praise music! Have a dance party!
  7. Do not neglect fellowship through the Body of Christ. As hard as it can be when we are down and out, we must not forsake the assembling of believers. We were made for relationships. Allow others to encourage your heart and you can be an encouragement as well! Allow others to lift you up in prayer. And when you intercede for others, that also helps to take your mind off of your own problems.
  8. Get in the Word. Stay in the Word. Pray the Word. Memorize the Word. Meditate on the Word. His Word gives life to us. Do not neglect the gift of His Word. This love letter from God is the key to our hopefulness. “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.” Hebrews 12:1-3

The Battle for Your mind rages on, It’s time to Kick the Devil OUT OF YOUR HEAD!

Satan Accuses Day and Night

We all struggle with this battle, especially in today’s dark times. The devil rages and accuses us 24-7, telling us how worthless we are and it’s time to KICK HIM OUT OF YOUR HEAD in JESUS’ name! As Carter Conlon teaches in this lesson, Gods voice is loving, it reminds you of how precious you are to Him first, then God will gently address anything He’s not pleased with.

Whereas Satan is always the accuser, he will always try to bring you down and he lies nonstop. Jesus told us Satan was the father of lies and the accuser but always remember that he is a DEFEATED foe! Remind Satan of his future when he attacks your mind. Rebuke him in Jesus name and stand firm! You have the MOST HIGH GOD standing over your shoulder on the playground. Nothing else matters. Kick the devil out TODAY in Jesus’ name!

Below is an excellent lesson on this subject from Carter Conlon at Times Square Church in NYC. I pray it helps you like it did me today. God bless,

Johnny

The Constant Battle For your Mind

Greater is He That Is in YOU Than He that is in the World

Put on Your Armor Daily!

Jesus said in this life we would have blessing and also tribulation if we followed Him. Yes the Christian walk will have it’s share of tribulations, especially as we approach the second coming. However that does NOT mean that we are left powerless before our enemy (satan) while we await Jesus’ return! God gave us powerful weapons of spiritual warfare in His word and it’s high time we start using them.

Unfortunately the modern day Churches don’t teach much of anything about spiritual warfare. Why? Because a lot of pastors and priests don’t believe it for one. They’re taught in seminary that these battles are simply allegory meant to teach us a life lesson. They’re never taught to take the battle literally or how much we truly need the full armor of God! Trust me when I say that the spiritual battle is more than real! I’ve seen some of these demonic beings up close and personal as have my children. For more on that story please download my FREE book on spiritual warfare. It details what we went through during that battle and how we overcame through prayer and God’s word. Click HERE.

Jesus gave us promises to never leave us nor forsake us and that He will be with us until the end of this age. Demons tremble and circumstances change when we use Jesus’ name in FAITH during our battles! We can declare our victory when we go INTO the battle knowing that God’s word assures us of our victory! No weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17) because greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world! 1 John 4:4.

During my studies this morning I found a good article on Crosswalk.com regarding the spiritual war against Satan. In it are 5 solid tips on beating back the attacks of the devil! Print out the ones that resonate with you and keep it where you’ll see it throughout the day! Victory is yours in Jesus’ name! You can find that article HERE.

God bless and take heart for Jesus has already overcome this world! Claim your victory through Him today!

Why the Bible Looks Foolish to the World

14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

1 Corinthians 2 14

The world has no peace in these dark times because it keeps looking to mankind for answers. The world looks at the Bible and scoffs because they’ve been programmed and socially engineered to think it’s a book of fables. They don’t understand because they aren’t looking at the issues with their spiritual eyes but rather their natural ones.

This spiritual blindness has been with mankind since the old testament. Jeremiah 5:21 puts it this way “Hear this, O foolish and senseless people, who have eyes but do not see, who have ears but do not hear.” All throughout Biblical history we see how the people treated the prophets and ultimately how they treated Jesus Christ. Now we’re seeing how the spiritually blind world is treating the Christians in this time. Anyone who speaks any Biblical truth today is shot down by the mainstream as being a “fanatic” or “alt-right”. Their goal is to label us in order to make us irrelevant because their arguments are based on emotion and “identity” politics.

Another big reason the world stays spiritually blind is because no one wants to be held accountable for their own actions. Most mainstream churches today will never talk about the consequences of sin because people wouldn’t come back. No one wants to be uncomfortable and hear the ugly truth. Instead the people in church are there to be told that it’s ok, God understands and that as long as they’re saved sin is no big deal. Because of this “feel good live your best life NOW” mentality no one is spiritually ready for what’s happening and what’s coming.

The Bible doesn’t make sense to the world at large because you have to be born again in the spirit. Because the world at large isn’t born again they don’t understand it and therefore they attack it. They mock and scoff at it’s prophecies (as predicted) because they don’t want to believe it. The world continues to believe that somehow a new man or woman will solve it all. Then we’ll all be one happy euphoric world where we blend with machines and explore the galaxy together and live forever. It’s nothing more than another version of the new age lie.

Time is short and the prophecies of Matthew 24 and many others are coming to pass. Ask Jesus to be your Lord and Savior today and then ask Him to show you the TRUTH. This life is short, eternity is forever. Repent and seek Him now while you may still find Him. God bless.

Taking Care of Family This Weekend…

Jack The Radio Cat

Last week was a week from hell with our cats. There was a major fight on Tuesday and this was the result. This is Jack our oldest at 8. His younger brother did this which was shocking. I’ve never seen anything like it between them, it was savage. They’ve been step bros for a long time, since 2013. Pip may have to be re-homed as now it will be hard to trust him around Jack.

Obviously Jack needed surgery and a very good friend helped us out. The vet did a great job and he’s eating and drinking well. For that we’re very grateful. He had dead tissue and an abscess/infection so this had to be done. It’s hard to see here but it makes you cringe up close because of how much they took and how large the drain is. We can’t use a cone of shame because of where it’s located so we have to keep a close eye on him and what he does to it.

Please keep him/us in your prayers for a quick recovery! This weekend will be the worst trying to keep him out of trouble lol. The vet said no hard playing so yeah that should be interesting.

I may or may not broadcast this week. Until I can figure out how to re-home the trouble maker I’m on cat duty 24-7 to prevent another fight and more vet bills. God bless.

Idaho Man Accused of Hitting Teen on Bicycle In Otis Orchards WA

My neighbor and friend’s family experienced a tragic accident involving someone they love. It’s a local teenager who is full of life and survived being struck head on by a drunk driver who then left him to bleed out in the street. As terrible as that is right now we need to focus on his recovery.

I’m linking the local news story up here and the link to donate if you wish is at the bottom of the story. He will have at least 10K in out of pocket expenses as we all know how expensive medical care is today even with good insurance. His injuries include a fractured pelvis (several places), broken tibia, scapula and of course a lot of road rash and bruises. Here is the story here on local news.

Please keep him in your prayers that he has a full recovery. Thanks and God bless.
