Spokane arson suspect charged with 4 new counts in fires dating to 2025
The man accused of setting one of the most destructive fires in Washington state is now facing five counts of first-degree arson. Aaron F. Farinacci, 37, appeared in court for his arraignment Thursday after he was charged in connection with the Old Trails Fire. That fire, along with two others that sparked on Saturday, Aug. 1, has burned more than 800 buildings in Spokane County.
In court documents filed the night before the arraignment, investigators said Farinacci said he started 25 fires since July of 2025. They corroborated four of those fires, and added those charges to his case.
At the scheduled hearing Thursday, Farinacci’s court-appointed public defender requested his client undergo a competency evaluation to see if he is fit to stand trial. OPB has reached out to Farinacci’s appointed lawyer, who did not immediately reply to a request for comment.
Spokane County Superior Court Judge Jeremy Schmidt signed the order for a competency evaluation shortly after the arraignment, a court clerk told KUOW reporter Paige Browning in the courtroom. This temporarily pauses court proceedings to complete the evaluation. Source OPB.org.
Editor’s note: It’s obvious these fires were set deliberately, at least the Old Trail fire certainly was according to the suspect’s own words.
The question I have is did someone put him up to it? I ask because the fire burned in an area that was designated to have a data center put in and the timing of everything sure feels suspicious. The citizens of Spokane including me filled out petitions to get a moratorium placed on putting up any new data centers just before these fires began. I can’t say that there were DEWS involved because none of the eyewitnesses to the beginning of the fire noticed anything but the suspect starting the fire.
As you can see by the updated charges and court documents he’s admitted to setting 25 other fires in the area since July of 2025. We also have a bunch of other homeless crazies out there being copycats and trying to start other fires which I blame on state governments getting rid of insane asylums. The ones setting fires are either flat out crazy, demon possessed or both and they need to be kept away from the general public.
So as a resident who lives here in Spokane (9 years and counting) I can say that so far it appears these fires were set by the crazies including Aaron, not DEW weapons. That being said I have heard that smart meters on homes are being used to start them on fire which once again gives the government plausible deniability, but people are definitely noticing rows of trees, bushes and grass intact and green while the homes are burnt to the ground.
Remember everyone who has had the COVID shots are a potential Manchurian Candidate (a zombie assassin) as with the right frequency they can take people’s minds over with the AI that Sarah Israel and her whistleblowers have been reporting.
