Spokane Fire Complex Update 8-12-26
I’m sorry I haven’t posted much in a few days but we are exhausted from sitting on “go” for the last 10 days or so. While we can relax a little bit today but now we have thunderstorms moving in with dry lightning predicted which is not good, so we will have to stay vigilent in case more fires start.
Thank you to those that emailed us prayers and support, you mean the world to us and know that you are on my prayer list daily! All of you are!
All evacuation levels for the Spokane Complex Fire were lifted on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, allowing residents to return to their neighborhoods. The fires, which ignited on August 1, 2026, have burned approximately 10,000 acres and resulted in the destruction or damage of at least 921 structures, with no reported injuries or fatalities.
Containment efforts have reached significant milestones across the three constituent fires: the Autumn Lane Fire is 73% contained, while the Old Trails Fire and Fairview Fire are both 53% contained. Although evacuations are lifted, officials warn that Spokane County remains at high risk for new fire starts, and hazards such as weakened trees and hot ash pits persist within the burn areas.
