US and Chinese Forces Converge in S. China Sea as Chinese Navy Shadows USS Ronald Reagan before Speaker Pelosi Visit to Asia and Taiwan

Tensions are very high in the Indo-Pacific region as the USA shifts it’s attention from Ukraine to Taiwan. It’s all over in Ukraine but the crying so now the USA is attempting to flex it’s political and military muscle in the South China Sea. This could end very badly for the US side as China has had many years to prepare for this very scenario and wargames that the US has conducted shows the US side LOSING BADLY to Chinese forces. This is no joke, a huge war with China and the USA could begin this weekend. Prayed up and prepped up! Here is the story from warnews247, translated from Greek for your convenience.

The entire Asia and Indo-Pacific region is watching with bated breath the outcome of the bitter US-China brawl as Nancy Pelosi began her trip to allied countries in the region.

Until the last minute, Beijing tried to cancel Pelosi’s visit, even asking senators to intervene.

At the same time, all the weight falls on two moves by China: The Fleet Command announced exercises in the area without giving details while the “yanzhen yidai” order was given to the Chinese Army.

Below you will see exactly what this means and why it has upset Americans.

Some of the Chinese threats have targeted Pelosi herself. “If the US can’t contain it, let China contain it and punish it,” Hu Jin, a former editor of China’s state-run Global Times newspaper, tweeted. “The PLA Air Force will certainly make its visit an embarrassment to itself and the US,” he added.

On the official account of the 80th Army of the People’s Liberation Army of China, the message “Prepared for war” appeared . But the 80th Army is in Shandong Province, in Yellow, which means general combat readiness in China’s ED branches.

At the same time, the USS Ronald Reagan was about 185 kilometers (115 miles) from the Spratlys on Thursday, according to satellite images. Next to it were two Chinese warships, the Chinese destroyer Type 052D and a frigate Type 054A which were spotted 27 and 23 kilometers away.

American RC-135V monitors the situation in the Spratly Archipelago by providing images to the American aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan. The aircraft took off from Darwin Air Force Base in Australia. On the map below you can see its route.

War readiness exercises continue in Taiwan. The streets are empty and the citizens are in shelters. The president of Taiwan Tsai Ing-wen the great war preparation.

N. Pelosi started…

The Speaker of the US House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, began her tour of Asian countries on Friday, inviting top lawmakers to join her.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., is leading an official congressional delegation to Asia  , two sources said, although it is unclear whether the trip will include a stop in Taiwan.

One of the sources who reviewed the itinerary Thursday afternoon said a visit to Taiwan was listed as “trial.” The trip will include visits to Japan, South Korea, Malaysia and Singapore.

In another development, Sen. Rick Larsen (D-Wash.) said Chinese officials pressured him to try to stop Pelosi’s trip to Taiwan. He said in an interview that a Chinese embassy official called his office and asked to be told to cancel the trip.

Meanwhile, on Monday, China’s consul general in San Francisco delivered a similar message to Larsen in person during a long-scheduled meeting in his Seattle district.

“He raised it, too, and made that request,” said Larsen, co-chairman of the bipartisan U.S.-China Working Group.

“I think it’s a gross miscalculation on the part of the Chinese to try to pressure any member of Congress into any travel anywhere.”

Pelosi has invited senior lawmakers to join her on the trip, including House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Gregory Meeks, D-N.Y., and Veterans Affairs Committee Chairman Mark Takano, D-Calif., who led a delegation of parliamentarians to Taiwan last year.

One of the sources said Pelosi had meetings in her office all week about the Asia trip and the Taiwan dispute. The source said discussions about a possible visit were extremely delicate given the possibility of military escalation.

“The Chinese could always miscalculate. The Cowboys could miscalculate ,” the source said. “And you have our own people who are going to do what they’re trained to do to ensure safety.”

Military mobilization by China

At the same time, China began military exercises in the South China Sea on Friday, according to a statement posted on the website of China’s Maritime Security Administration.

The agency’s brief statement noted that the exercises will be conducted in four areas of the South China Sea, off the coast of Guangdong and Hainan provinces.

The objectives of the exercises, the forces and means involved were not specified.

In addition, the maritime security administration said China plans to conduct gunnery drills in the South China Sea on August 2 and 3. The organization’s website noted that the exercise will be held in the west of the Leizhou Peninsula.

A sea area in the South China Sea about 89 kilometers from Macau will be closed to ships on Saturday for military exercises, according to a statement issued by China’s Maritime Security Administration. The Gulf of Tonkin in southwest Guangdong will also be a no-go zone on Tuesday and Wednesday while firing drills take place.

Song Zhongping, a former PLA instructor, said the US carrier strike group is likely to provide an escort for Pelosi if she continues the trip to Taiwan.

“At the same time, ahead of the possible visit, the US will increase surveillance of the activities of the People’s Liberation Army around Taiwan – meaning the US will deploy a large number of reconnaissance aircraft,” he added.

YPAM China: Action is the most powerful “language”

At the same time, China’s defense ministry issued a new, rare warning about Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan.

“Action is the most powerful language,” the Chinese Ministry of Defense said, underscoring Beijing’s sensitivity to the Taiwan issue.

In total, China has issued six warnings against US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s possible visit to the island of Taiwan in recent days.

The frequency of Chinese warnings and remarks used by various departments fully demonstrate China’s determination to take the necessary military measures to counter US provocations and safeguard national sovereignty and territorial integrity, Chinese analysts said.

The People’s Liberation Army (PLA) will not tolerate any “Taiwan independence” move or interference from outside forces and will resolutely stop such attempts, Wu Qian, a spokesman for the defense ministry, said at a press conference on Thursday.

The root cause of the turbulent Taiwan Strait is the collusion between the “Taiwan independence” forces and outside interventionist forces, Wu said, urging stakeholders to learn to adapt to the new reality (PLA operations near the Straits) , to reflect on their own actions and “most importantly, to pull back from the brink.”

Although Wu was responding to a question about PLA operations in the Taiwan Strait, analysts interpreted Wu’s words as another stern warning against the US government and some US politicians pushing for a visit by Pelosi to the island of Taiwan .

The U.S. should not underestimate the crisis and the potentially disastrous results it will bring to the Taiwan Straits if Pelosi ends up making the trip, Chinese experts said, adding:

“If the US does not back down but continues to challenge, the price they will be asked to pay will be beyond their means.”

Code “yanzhen yidai”

China’s foreign ministry used the phrase “yanzhen yidai” (We are fully prepared for any eventuality) which literally translates to “military forces are ready and waiting for the enemy” and the defense ministry said the PLA “will not sit idly by hands”  if Pelosi visits Taiwan.

Hu Xijin, a columnist for the Global Times, said China’s recent responses, including the two rare expressions, sent a message that Beijing is determined to thwart Pelosi’s plan to visit the island of Taiwan.

Hu cited some precedents where the two phrases were used:

Before the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea (1950-53), then-premier Zhou Enlai warned that China would not stand idly by if US troops crossed the 38th parallel.

In 1964, the Chinese government warned the US after the Gulf of Tonkin incident using the same phrase, urging the US to stop advancing on the then Democratic People’s Republic of Vietnam.

The phrase “yanzhen yidai”, which the foreign ministry translated as “full preparation for any eventuality”, suggests that the preparation is not a military mobilization or logistical preparation, but that all personnel are in place and all ammunition is ready for a potential conflict, according to Hu.

Lü Xiang, a researcher at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, told the Global Times “since the status quo has already been broken by the US due to Pelosi’s visit, China will actively shape a new status quo.”

China will make the best use of the US’s mistakes through comprehensive measures, including military, looking to fully control the situation in the Taiwan Strait to better promote the reunification process in the future, the expert said.
