NATO Crosses the red line with Russia as US Sec. of Def. Austin Meets With Georgia and Ukraine
There is a lot going on in the wars/rumors of war arena tonight! First we go to Russia where FM Lavrov said that “that Russia would no longer be pretending that the relations with NATO could change for the better in the near future.”
Here is more on that story from Pravda.ru.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov announced the termination of diplomatic relations with NATO at a time when US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin ended a meeting in Georgia with his counterpart. Hmm. I remember the last time the nation of Georgia trusted the USA and NATO. Remember this video?
That Russian/Georgian war took place in 2008 and Georgia was abandoned by the west. What makes them think it would be any different now? If war breaks out Georgia and Ukraine will be decimated by the Russians as they’ll take the brunt of the Russian forces. Here is more from Pravda.
Following the meeting, the US Defense Secretary and the Georgian Defense Minister signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at strengthening Georgia’s defense capabilities.
“Georgia has consistently and steadfastly supported the U. S. in promoting peace and stability in the region, and I’m glad to have this opportunity to reaffirm our support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity,” Austin said on Twitter.
“We had a very important meeting, during which we reviewed primary threats and challenges within the country, region and in the world and noted that our strategic cooperation based on mutual trust has never been as strong and multifaceted as it is now,” Burchuladze said after the meeting.
Russia for their part is having none of this NATO nonsense. Their red line has always been Ukraine and/or Georgia joining NATO. In fact on Monday October 18, Kremlin’s official spokesman Dmitry Peskov called Ukraine’s entry into NATO “the worst scenario”, to which Russia will respond with “active measures.”
“This is a scenario that goes beyond the red lines of Russia’s national interests. This is a scenario that may force Russia to take active measures to ensure its own security,” Peskov said in an interview with France 5 TV channel.
The bottom line here is that Russia WILL TAKE ACTION ON THIS! Look back at August 2008 when they felt threatened they attacked and they will do so again. Will NATO or the US act to help or back out on their agreements again? Now that’s anyone’s guess but nonetheless Sec. Austin was in the region signing agreements. Time will tell but everything is being put into place for war. Prayed up and prepped up.
